Using a suitable wedge placed under the door to give the required clearance top and bottom of the door, offer the door up to the spring hinges and mark the places where the hinges will be fixed to the door. Each rectangle where the spring hinge is placed is 48 x 29 mm. Then remove the required amount of material from the door to obtain a good fit into the throat of the spring hinge. Once a good fit has been obtained all round the door, the holes for the spring hinges can be drilled and the fixing screws fitted.
Please ensure all drilled holes (used for securing the body of the spring
hinge) in the door are exactly in line with the centre of the holes in the
spring hinge itself. If aligned incorrectly, the countersunk heads of the
screws may push the spring hinge slightly up or down, resulting in the cam
face on the body to jam during operation.
If necessary, door stops should be fitted to ensure the door opening is
restricted to 95 degrees.
